Be inspired...

These are some of the real occupations behind the scenes of The Geneva Market
This among other things is what makes our market unique. Most markets or shows are sponsored by their city, fairgrounds, or local chamber.
Not us, we are inspired by passion, drive, and desire to better our small, less than 200 population, town. We are The Geneva Community Betterment!
Group of 7 plus our friends and family.
And of course, WE LOVE JUNK!
Frequent flyers of several flea markets, antique shows, and craft shows, it wasn't until we stepped foot into Gold Rush in Oronoco, MN that we knew exactly how we were going to raise funds to better the community we live in. Instantly, we had a direct vision. We will use all money raised to renovate our existing Geneva School Auditorium. The auditorium will be used to eventually host The ever popular Geneva Market!
Yes, there has been much drama, heated discussions, and difference of opinions along the way. But somehow we have managed to accomplish what some would say, considering our resources, THE IMPOSSIBLE!
You see, we had no training or money to get started. Our small town only has a bank, a beautition, and of course a lounge with really great food! Ideal facilities or land to hold our markets do not exist right now. But we did it anyway. Yes, we are not too proud to admit that we have made some mistakes along the way.
Heck, 1/2 the time we joke that
"We don't know what we are doing.....but we are doing it anyway"
So just come join us, 100 vendors, and 1,000's of shoppers!
You will not find anything fancy here. Just the best down home vendors with fabulous antiques, vintage repurposed junk, and handcrafted items.
Giving us practical ideas with some really great products.
Have a bunch of fun, at our "well mannered market!"
Oh, did I mention...we have really great food too? :)
======================
4 years later..... WE SUCCEEDED!!
Our renovation project has come along far enough that we moved back into Geneva and were able to utilize the Geneva auditorium once again!
See our journey below....
Most labor was performed by the members of The Geneva Betterment.
We used scoop shovels and wheel barrels to remove old cement ceiling
that had fallen to the floor and more.
